We will explore four major movements in art history: American Modernism, Fauvism, Impressionism, and Pop Art! Each art movement has something to offer that will both expand the way you see the world and nature as an artist.
Students will be inspired to create their own works utilizing a wide range of materials including: air dry clay, printmaking techniques, tempera paint, acrylic paint, chalk pastels, & oil pastels! Art Supply Kits will need to be picked up by families. Date and time yet to be determined. Materials students will need from home are: a hand held mirror, a flower from the yard, newspaper to cover work areas, paper towels, tin foil, a stapler, scissors, & a water cup to clean brushes.
We will be using Google Meet each morning to go over the day's projects. We can share ideas, artwork and socialize a bit as a class during this time as well!
Students will then go to Multi-Media Art Program's Google Classroom where they will find a brief art history lesson, project description with a list of materials to gather for the project, and a YouTube demonstration video that I will create that will reteach the demo done during the Google Meet from that morning!
“Office Hours” for students & parents will be between 10am-2pm on our Classroom Stream or by Gmail. I will be available to answer questions and students can also share what they are working on for feedback. I am so excited to have this opportunity to work with the students on this virtual art camp journey!
